Patricia Alma Lee (Pat Lee) is a genuine, middle-class Midwesterner who grew up in NORMAL, Illinois. She lived there with her parents, Jeanne and Don, from age 4 to nearly age 18 until she went to University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana. She studied English, writing, and health. Although Pat moved to the greater Chicago area after graduating, she continued to have strong ties in NORMAL through her parents, friends from Second Presbyterian Church, and neighbors, first at 111 Eastview Dr. and then at 303 Augustine Way. Both her parents lived out their lives in NORMAL.
Her student friends from Oakdale, Chiddix, and NORMAL Community High School were in classes, clubs and after-school activities together so meaningful bonds were formed. Some have lasted a lifetime.
Pat’s past work life fell roughly into three distinct time segments. Initially, she consulted for large entities on human resources compensation issues, she co-founded and co-operated Call of the Sea, Nautical Art and Gifts with her sister Elizabeth, project manager/writer/editor roles in medical and business communications.
College teaching in the evening divisions at Northwestern University and Columbia College Chicago offered her an exhilarating challenge. According to Pat, for sheer fun, singing solo and in groups, under the stage names “Patti Lee” or “Alma” at venues and private events in Chicago, Greenwich Village, New York, Rome, Saintes, France and Cabos San Lucas, Mexico couldn’t be beat! (She promises to let you know if and when she stages a comeback… Ha!)
She and her dear husband, Ray, enjoy reading avidly and endlessly (!) and sharing travel-study trips.
